Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers Every Collector Should Have
One of my obsessions is Golden Goose Deluxe Brand. They were launched back in 2000 after merging the creative spirit of Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. Through the years, they have evolved into a worldwide designer brand with boutiques worldwide, and it’s one that style enthusiasts really love.
I’ve known about Golden Goose for years and I would often look through what FarFetch had, as they always had an fantastic selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always found them a bit pricey and seemed too close in style to Converse, so they were always shoes that were just in the back of my mind. A couple of years ago, Adam was the one who first got into the brand and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. Seeing his pair up close and noticing that no two pairs are alike because they’re artisanal, I was more intrigued. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are deliberately worn-looking and made to look used and abused, they are all hand done so each one is different. Some have women’s golden goose shoes much more abrasions and dirt than others, so there’s a whole spectrum.
If you’re shopping offline, it might be a good idea to ask to see a few of the same shoe and choose from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to trust the surprise!The pair of sneakers that I was first obsessed with are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been on the market forever, but I never ended up purchasing them.
I actually ended up getting the Shopbop-exclusive silver pair, and they’re a pair I have styled multiple times (see here and my Golden Goose review here). I genuinely adore them! I bought another pair identical and customized them with black laces and a burgundy star, so they’re really fun! I also own a pair of wine-toned velvet finish, and two pairs of high-cut styles! I do definitely want a black pair now, but I have a pair of Converse in black canvas, so I’m not sure I should repeat the color, even though they’re different.
